Nurse Ellis Presented DAISY Award for Extraordinary Patient Care

(Dekalb, IL) – Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. (ACH) is proud to present Nurse Ellis with a DAISY Award for extraordinary patient care.

The DAISY Foundation’s DAISY Award recognizes nurses “for the super-human work they do for their patients and families [of the patients] every day.” While the DAISY Award is well-known in the hospital setting, ACH partnered in 2017 as the first and only correctional health care provider to present this award to its associates. When nurses are honored with the DAISY Award, they receive an award certificate, a DAISY pin, and the Healer’s Touch sculpture. They are also featured on the DAISY Foundation’s website.

Nurse Ellis’s nomination stated: “One time, Nurse Ellis called me to say that they had seen a patient on med pass that voiced a concern to them. They let him know that they needed to finish their med pass but that they would call for him as soon as they were done. Nurse Ellis did just that! They saw the patient, identified a pretty serious issue, called the provider, and the patient was sent to the hospital... Without Nurse Ellis and her unwavering commitment to wonderful patient care, this could have gone a different way. I feel very honored to have her as a part of the ACH team.”

ACH demonstrates a steady commitment to patients, clients, and associates, and puts people over profits. ACH has received two Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Ethics and earned its tenth consecutive year of Great Place to Work certification. ACH was also honored at Music City's Community Choice Awards for having the Best Employee Recognition Program and named “Best Hospital & Health Care Business of the Year” in the Global 100 Awards.
