Minnesota Sheriff’s Association Awards Heidi Blokyzl Correctional Nurse of the Year

(Olivia, Minnesota) – Renville County Jail Nurse Heidi Blokzyl has been honored as the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association Correctional Nurse of the Year. The award was presented on Thursday, September 18, during the Jail Administrator’s Conference at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd, MN.

In a recent online post, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office remarked, “For more than eight years, Heidi has been an integral part of the safe and healthy operation of our jail. From navigating the challenges of COVID-19 and influenza outbreaks to providing daily care with compassion and professionalism, Heidi consistently goes above and beyond her duties.

She is known for her tireless work ethic, calm response in emergencies, and ability to connect with those in her care. Her positive attitude is contagious, impacting inmates, staff, and administration alike. Quite simply, Heidi is the heartbeat of our facility, and this award is a true reflection of her dedication and service. We are proud to celebrate Heidi’s well-deserved recognition as Correctional Nurse of the Year.”
