Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. (ACH) was the 2008-2012 health care provider for the Jackson County Jail located in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2012, CCS won the bid. As a result, in January 2013, ACH transitioned out of the facility.

Over five years later, ACH is back! We are now female-led, the only correctional health care company certified as a Great Place to Work, and the largest jail health care provider in the nation. We are thrilled to return to Kansas City and partner with Jackson County jail administration in our endeavor to improve the health of incarcerated people.

As we begin recruiting and hiring for this facility, most positions will receive a $1,000 signing bonus. Interested applicants should apply on our website:

ACH is currently contracted with over 300 correctional facilities across 16 states. Those numbers include around 55 Missouri facilities (over half of the state) and around 30 Kansas facilities.

At ACH, we empower our medical and mental health teams to exercise their professional judgment in treating patients. As a result, we do not require our people to obtain prior approval from their supervisor or the corporate office for any prescription or off-site care (such as hospitalization).

People who work in corrections understand that incarcerated patients file a disproportionately high number of lawsuits (which is why Congress enacted the Prison Litigation Reform Act in 1996). Just because someone may be named as a defendant in a lawsuit, does not make them guilty. We take criticisms of the care provided by our team seriously, but the number of lawsuits filed is not concerning. We care for over 33,000 patients.

ACH understands that the people in correctional facilities are someone’s child, sibling, spouse, or parent. Our team isn’t there to make a difficult time in their lives harder. Our purpose is to make the management of our patients’ medical and mental health issues, easier.
